Simonette David Jackson creates intricate pen-and-ink drawings, which she often transforms into three-dimensional, collage-like pieces. Inspired by the local flora and fauna of her San Fernando Valley neighborhood and portraits of her family—especially her maternal grandmother, Nanay—Jackson's work is rich with symbolism. Through recurring visual motifs, she weaves together themes of motherhood, family, nature, and storytelling.
